Reset it using your recovery key After entering your password up to three times, if you see the option to reset using your recovery key, click it. Enter your FileVault recovery key. Enter your new password information, then click Reset Password.
Start up from macOS Recovery. When the utilities window appears, click Utilities in the menu bar, then choose Startup Security Utility (or Firmware Password Utility). Click Turn On Firmware Password. Enter a firmware password, then click Set Password.

Go to the login screen to unlock a MacBook Pro without a password. Select the user account and tap the question mark. Click the arrow beside reset it using your Apple ID. Here, you can create a new password and follow the on-screen instructions.
