Click and drag the square indent marker on the left or the triangle indent marker on the right to a new position, which changes the margins for the current paragraph (the paragraph in which the blinking cursor resides) or all paragraphs in a selection.
Under Document Page Layout Options are the four possible line spacing settings: Loose, Normal, Tight and Very Tight: Set to Normal, a 100-page (exactly) script in the default Final Draft screenplay template (US Letter) repaginates (roughly) at: Loose: 106. Tight: 95.
Go to Format Set Font to open the below window: From the list on the left, choose a feature (selected text, scene numbers, Mores and Continueds or Index Cards) whose text is to be changed. On the right side of the window you can select Font, Size, Color, Highlight, Style and Capitalization options.
Although the default settings should work for the vast majority of scripts, there may be situations in which you need to change the top and bottom margins. To do this, go to Document Page Layout. Here you can increase or decrease the text margins.
The standard industry-standard screenplay format includes the following : Courier typeface in font size 12, double-spaced lines. 1.5-inch margin on the left side of the page. 1-inch margin on the right side of the page. 1-inch margins on the of the top and bottom of the page. Character names to be in uppercase letters.
Final Draft has two paper sizes, US Letter and A4.
Final Draft Documents include scripts and text documents (. fdx extension), as well as templates (. fdxt extension). Although a Final Draft template can be opened using the File Open command, a new document will be created as though a template has been selected using the File New from Template command.
Page Margins The top margin needs to be one inch. The bottom margin, and your right- or outside margin can vary from that by up to a quarter-inch. The left, or inside, margin needs to allow space for the three-hole punch binding for when your screenplay is printed, so that should be about one-and-a-half inches.
