On the Draw tab, select the Ink to Text Pen tool. Start writing in an empty space near the location you want to add text to, and then write as you normally would. To quickly make updates and even apply formatting to the converted text, use the selection or editing gestures.
To turn off drawing mode after youve drawn what you want, press the Esc key. This action puts you back into selection mode.
Go to the Review tab and select Start Inking to display the Ink Tools and Pens tab.
With a Surface Pen, just start writing. On the Draw tab, select a pen to change the color and thickness. Use Lasso Select to circle anything youve written. Then, select Ink to Text to turn it into editable text.
You can easily convert handwriting to text via OCR technology. By using a free scanner app like docHub Scan, a smartphone, or an online OCR option, you can scan the handwriting with your smartphone. From there, the technology will recognize the text and translate it into text on a document.
You will find the Hide Ink button under the Review tab in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Clicking it will toggle ink on or off. When the Hide Ink icon is highlighted in grey, ink markup is being hidden. When it is not highlighted, ink markup is being shown.
To add Ink annotations in Microsoft Office applications, select the Review menu, then select Start Inking. Note: In Microsoft Word or Excel, select the Insert tab and then click on Start Inking.
