Create a reusable topic Navigate to the Repository. Click the contextual menu next to the reuse folder. Choose Create Dita Topic. Populate the fields in the Create New Topic dialog. For example: Click Create. Add content to the topic as required.
DITA allows for content reuse through mechanisms like maps, topics, key-based referencing, and conditional referencing. A DITA map is a container that references various topics or content modules.
Content reuse is an approach where authors create a chunk of content and then use that same chunk anywhere its needed. This method allows for rapid changes and updates to existing content across all instances where its used, as well as fast creation of new variations of information, based on existing content.
Create a ditamap Choose File New DITA . Alternatively, choose File New XML. By default, a ditamap is opened in the Resource Manager. You can use the available FrameMaker tools, such as the Structure View and Elements panel, to work with a ditamap. You can also include relationship tables to a ditamap.
Creating a DITA Topic in Oxygen XML Editor Select File New or click the New button on the toolbar. Step Result: The New Document Wizard is displayed: Go to Framework templates DITA topic and select the type of topic that you want to create. Select a file path where it will be saved. Click Create.
There is no line break element or equivalent in DITA. Topic titles are used to form the heading in the output deliverable document, as well as for other constructs such as link text and metadata values. Writing accurate, concise and consistent topic titles is an important challenge for DITA authors.
