Creating a responsive footer with CSS Step 1: Basic HTML Structure. Firstly, we will set up the basic HTML structure for the footer. Step 2: Basic CSS Styling. Next, we will add some basic CSS styling to our HTML structure. Step 3: Making the Footer Responsive. To make the footer responsive, we will use CSS media queries.
Adding a footer at the bottom of the page with HTML and CSS is very straightforward. You can do it by giving the element a class or id and then setting the position to absolute , setting the values of the bottom , and left attributes to 0 .
The footer is anchored at the bottom of the page using CSS position: sticky property. Position: sticky keeps the footer visible while scrolling. This design provides consistent navigation and information placement throughout scrolling interactions.
Instead of putting position: absolute you can replace with position: fixed if you want the footer to stick on the bottom part any time. The only way to make footer with dynamic height is flex parent element(can be body) and column direction for all flex items (including footer).
Flexbox or CSS Grid are both great choices for creating flexible layouts that adjust to screen sizes. For simplicity, well use Flexbox. This CSS code provides a sleek, dark background to your footer, ensuring that text stands out in white, and uses Flexbox to organize the content effectively.
Edit your existing headers and footers Double-click the header or footer you want to edit, or select Header or Footer, and then select Edit Header or Edit Footer. Add or change text for the header or footer or do any of the following: When youre done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.
Using Flexbox Then, give the footer element a margin-top: auto to make its margin fill the remaining space between it and its previous sibling. Note that this technique will not stretch the previous sibling, but rather push the footer to the bottom of the page.
