Now, its important to note, its always better to correct perspective as early as you can in your workflow. So if youre working with RAW files, its better to select them in Bridge, and choose open in Camera Raw and use the geometry panel to correct the perspective.
Select the image files you want to edit by clicking open on the home screen. The Camera Raw editor will automatically open up right away when using raw images. Edit your first photo in the sequence. This will apply to the rest of the photos in the sequence, so getting the first one right is essential.
Correct image perspective and lens flaws automatically In the nested Profile tab of the Lens Corrections tab, select Enable Lens Profile Corrections. If Camera Raw does not find a suitable profile automatically, select a Make, Model, and Profile.
Youll find the Straighten Tool in the toolbar along the top left of the Camera Raw dialog box (directly to the right of the Crop Tool). Unlike the Crop Tool, the Straighten Tool doesnt have any hidden menu options so to select it, simply click on its icon.
About lens corrections You can correct for these apparent distortions and aberrations using the Lens Corrections tab of the Camera Raw dialog box. Vignetting causes the edges, especially the corners, of an image to be darker than the center.
They moved the Geometry panel to the Crop tool. When using Camera Raw from the Filter Menu, you click on the Crop tool (which was never there before when using it as a filter), and now the panel appears (as seen above where Im clicking on the Crop Tool).
A darkroom technician can correct perspective distortion in the printing process. It is usually done by exposing the paper at an angle to the film, with the paper raised toward the part of the image that is larger, therefore not allowing the light from the enlarger to spread as much as the other side of the exposure.
Correcting the perspective in-camera A tilt shift lens keeps verticals correct by allowing you to photograph from a level position. Once the camera is level, instead of tilting up like you would with a regular lens, you shift upwards on the lens, all while keeping the camera level.
