The CG 20 10 covers the additional insured with respect to liability caused by your ongoing operations. Ongoing operations does not include completed operations. Therefore, the current form CG 20 10 does not include completed operations coverage for the additional insured.
This endorsement modifies insurance provided under the following: COMMERCIAL GENERAL LIABILITY COVERAGE PART. SCHEDULE 1. Designation of Premises (Part Leased to You); 2. Name of Person or Organization (ADDITIONAL INSURED):
CG 20 12 - Additional Insured-State or Governmental Agency or Subdivision or Political Subdivision-Permits or Authorizations. CG 20 13 - Additional Insured-State or Governmental Agency or Subdivision or Political Subdivision-Permits or Authorizations Relating to Premises.
CG 20 37 04 13: Additional Insured Owners, Lessees Or Contractors Completed Operations. Covers the additional insured for liability arising from injury or damage occurring after the work is completed.
The letters indicate the type of coverage: CG = General Liability; CA = Commercial Auto; CF = Property.
The CG 20 10 additional insured endorsement extends coverage to your clients. What makes the CG 20 10 11/85 endorsement different and client preferred boils down to the phrase: your work. After November 1985 (hence 11/85), the term your work was replaced with your ongoing operations.
The current form CG 20 10 after 1985 does not provide coverage to the additional insured for completed operations. It only provides coverage for ongoing operations, and this was a completed operations exposure. If they also wanted coverage for completed operations, they would need a CG 20 37 endorsement.
CG 20 26 Additional Insured - Designated Person or Organization. Adds a designated person or organization as an additional insured for liability arising out of the named insureds premises or operations. This endorsement can be used to add any interest to the policy, subject to company approval.
