The transfer technique is a special drawing technique that was developed by the painter and draftsman Jules Pascin. In Pascins mind a drawing should be done in complete freedom by the hand that is doing the drawing, without being controlled by the eye.
A modified contour line drawing allows you to look at your paper and pick up your pen, using multiple lines instead of one. Although not completely blind, the artist should only look at the paper 10% of the time, and at the object 90% of the time.
The revision of drawings is about keeping drawing records up to date to accurately show the details of a plants existing construction or to define the scope of what is to be installed or modified for a project.
The first is the cloud method, where each change is enclosed by a hand-drawn cloud shape, as shown in the illustration below - left. The second method involves placing a circle (or triangle or other shape) with the revision number next to each effected portion of the drawing, as shown in the illustration below.
A Modification Drawing is prepared to add, remove, or rework items to satisfy the users requirements or to incorporate mandatory changes in delivered equipment. (Engineering changes are incorporated into the latter drawing types to the extent that future production is to reflect the modifications.)
24, an Altered Item Drawing does exactly what its name says: it modifies some other part by adding and/or subtracting features. The original part is usually under the configuration control of some other design activity (usually a different company) or is the subject of some national standard.
