How to change date format in Microsoft Word document Open the merge document in Microsoft Word. From the Insert drop-down menu, select Date/Time. Select the appropriate format. Click OK. Save and close the merge document.
Here is a step-by-step guide to it. Locate the Document: Go to file explorer. Right-click on the File: Right-click on the chosen file. Open Properties: Click on properties on the drop-down window. Switch to the Details Tab: Click on Details tab. Find the Creation Date: Go to content created.
The easiest way to do that is to use the Field tool. Put your cursor where you want the date to appear and click on Insert, Field. That will evoke the Field dialog box. Select SaveDate (if youre using Office 2002) or Date and Time (if youre using an earlier version) from the field categories.
To edit the date, click the gray box, type a new date, and then click outside the box. To change the date back to the current date, click the date field and click Update. Note: If you manually change the date and then save and close your document, the next time the document is opened, Word will show the current date.
It can be a Word-document, PowerPoint, or Excel. Click at the top of the document where the title of the file appears. In the box that appears, click at the bottom on Version history. You will now see a box on the right with a list of previous versions of a document.
