Can AWS restore data without backup?

Note: For security and privacy reasons, AWS Support doesnt have visibility or access to customer data. If you dont have backups of your deleted AMI, then AWS Support cant recover it for you.

You cant update the AMI of an instance without replacing it with a new instance.

Creating a Patched Instance: A new EC2 instance is launched using the current AMI of the ASG. This instance is then used for patching.
