Hi everyone, Kevin here. Today, weamp;#39;re going to learn how to make bar charts and also column charts in Microsoft Excel. A bar chart displays your data horizontally while a column chart displays your data vertically. Along with these, weamp;#39;ll also look at how you can make multiple-column charts and also stacked-column charts. Letamp;#39;s check out how to do this. Here I am in Microsoft Excel, and if you would like to follow along today, you can click on a link to this workbook down below in the description of this video. Here, I have sales data for the Kevin Cookie Company in a table, and I could try to make sense of this data simply by looking at it, but I think a visual or a chart would help me understand this data a lot better. To insert a chart, simply click anywhere within your data. You could highlight all of it, or you could simply click into one of the cells. Up on the top tabs, letamp;#39;s click on the one called Insert, and right

To update the chart automatically when new data is added to multiple columns, you can define named ranges for each column and use those named ranges as the data source for the chart. Then whenever new data is added to any of the named ranges, the chart will update ingly.
Just click on the chart you want to copy and use Ctrl + C to copy then select the other chart. In the end, use the shortcut key Alt + E + S to paste/apply the formatting.
Right-click your chart, and then choose Select Data. In the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the series you want to change. Click Edit, make your changes, and click OK. Changes you make may break links to the source data on the worksheet.
If you want to keep the chart linked to the source worksheet, so that changes you make to the data in the source worksheet updates the chart in Word, choose Use Destination Theme Link Data, or Keep Source Formatting Link Data. You can also paste the chart as a picture.
On the ribbon, click Chart Design and then click Select Data. This selects the data range of the chart and displays the Select Data Source dialog box. To edit a legend series, in the Legend entries (series) box, click the series you want to change. Then, edit the Name and Y values boxes to make any changes.
Refresh data in linked chart and break Excel link Right click on the chart. Select Refresh linked data top update the data. To break the link, click on Break Excel link from the same menu.
