the format of a label and a caption for a table is table 1. table is capitalized also the label has a normal weight and font when the caption is one line it centers the caption sometimes you want the label to be bold or you might want the caption to be left justified regardless of the number of lines it occupies you can use the caption package to alter the format of your captions to alter all the captions in your document youamp;#39;re going to use the caption setup command and the preamble which is before begin document so iamp;#39;m going to type backslash caption setup is one word and in the curly brackets iamp;#39;m going to list all the things that i want to change so the first item i want to change is single line check thatamp;#39;s all one word and i want to set that equal to false thatamp;#39;s going to make it left justified itamp;#39;s going to turn off the automatic centering so the next parameter that i want to change i just put a comma is label sep and thatamp;#39;s

Captions can be listed at the beginning of a paper or report in a List of Tables or a List of Figures section by using the \listoftables or \listoffigures commands, respectively. The caption used for each figure will appear in these lists, along with the figure numbers, and page numbers that they appear on.
Caption. It is usually beneficial to include caption to your images. To do so, simply use the command \caption{text} either below or above your figure (usually below for images and above for tables).
The line break is achieved by using LaTeX \\ ; each backslash needs to be escaped hence \\\\ in the code. Note the caption package defaults to centring the caption. There are arguments which allow for justification and indentation of the caption if that is preferable.
To change the formatting of your captions throughout your document simply right-click that style on the gallery and choose Modify. You can set font size, color, type and other options that will apply to your captions.
Just like in floats (tables and figures), captions can be added to a listing for a more clear presentation. Adding the comma-separated parameter caption=Python example inside the brackets, enables the caption. This caption can be later used in the list of Listings.
First, include the caption package in your LaTeX document by adding the following line to your preamble: \usepackage{caption}. Once this is done, you can change the font size of captions by using the command \captionsetup{font=small} (or any other desired font size).
Its really easy, just add the \caption{Some caption} and inside the braces write the text to be shown. The placement of the caption depends on where you place the command; if its above the \includegraphics then the caption will be on top of it, if its below then the caption will also be set below the figure.
Captions rather than titles, as figures do not get titles. But you are right: a figures caption goes below the figure, while a tables caption serves as its title and thus goes over the table. In latex this is done by placing the \caption{} command before the \begin{tablular} or after the \includegraphics{}.
