Really pleased to have all of you here to join us on this I think really exciting discussion, building on the theme of cosmopolitan ethics and specifically getting perspectives from outside of the science on what we mean by cosmopolitan ethics, how can we achieve that goal, and what implications would that have for this type of emerging research in the life sciences? The format today will be, again like the previous panel, about 5-10 minutes of short remarks from each of our distinguished panelists, followed by a discussion with you the audience. First, we have Professor Rosemarie Garland-Thomson from Emory University. She is a humanist, a disability, justice, and culture thought leader, bioethicist, educator, and broad scholar in critical disability studies.
