Why is Revision Important in Writing? The process of revision is essential to writing well. It is the opportunity to take a step back and examine your work with a critical eye, looking for ways to improve clarity, sentence structure, and overall effectiveness.
The Purpose of a Revision Assignment deleting needless words. correcting spelling or awkward phrasing. changing, standardizing punctuation. moving sentences or paragraphs. adding or improving a transition. converting a paragraph to a bulleted list (and vice-versa)
What does it mean to revise? Revision literally means to see again, to look at something from a fresh, critical perspective.
