Hi everyone, my name is Kevin. Today I want to show you how you can edit a PDF using Microsoft Word, and as full disclosure before we jump into this, I work at Microsoft as a full-time employee. All right, well lets jump on the desktop. Here I am on my desktop, and I have a PDF file called certificate. Im going to go ahead and click on that and I have this nice certificate that I found online. Its a PDF file and I run a company and I have some employees who I want to celebrate. You know, instead of giving people a pay raise, Im just going to give him this paper certificate and hopefully that makes them satisfied with this company. No, really, Id probably just give him more money, I think that makes people happy and maybe throw the certificate in too, but heres the certificate and unfortunately, its a PDF and I cant edit the name of the recipient. I cant type anything down here. I cant type in a date. Its kind of annoying how its hard to edit PDFs,

You can find the editing time on a document in multiple ways. For Word on Windows, click the File Menu Info tab in Backstage. Under the Properties column, it will list the Total Editing Time. In my document below, it shows 682 minutes.
Try it! Select Review Display for Review. Select the option you want: Simple Markup points out where changes are made with a red line in the margin. All Markup shows all edits with different colors of text and lines. In the Show Markup list, select the types of revisions youd like to see: Comments.
In Word, press the Review tab and select Track Changes to highlight it and turn it on. 2. Begin typing anywhere in the document, making changes, deleting items, or adding parts. Word will track changes to text and formatting.
Click the Review tab on the Ribbon. Click the down arrow on Track Changes Track Changes to turn it on or off. Track Changes: On or Track Changes: Off will display on the status bar (bottom bar in the document.) If this is not showing, right-click the status bar, and check Track Changes.
On the Review tab, select Track Changes. Select Accept or Reject. As you accept or reject changes, Word will move to the next change. Tip: To move through changes in the document without accepting or rejecting them, select Next or Previous.
Show comments in the markup area Click the Review tab in the Ribbon. In the Tracking group, click Display for Review. Select Simple Markup or All Markup to show the markup area, including comments. Click Show Markup. Ensure Comments is selected.

Formatting changes are only tracked if you have checked the Track Formatting check box in the Advanced Track Changes Options dialog box. Formatting changes are only shown if Show Markup menu Formatting is turned on. This option can also be turned on or off from the Track Changes Options dialog box.
