View the keyboard layout On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click Keyboard in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Open Keyboard settings for me. Go to Text Input on the right, then click Edit. Select an input source on the left. The keyboard layout is shown on the right.

Go to Apple menu System Preferences Keyboard Input Sources. Select Show Input menu in menu bar. Open the Input menu, then make sure the correct keyboard layout for your language is selected.
To reset your Mac keyboard to its default settings, go to System Preferences Keyboard, and click on the Modifier Keys button. Then, click the Restore Defaults button.
