hey this is ralph and in this video i want to be able to write a little baby script so that i can get the value the input from a text box so previous video we just really quickly made a text box which is just using a label and of course the good old fashion wheres my editor there it is input type text i it does have an id i played around with placeholder just to see how that worked and of course we have the max length attribute in there but what i want um students in intro to javascript to be able to do is obviously easily make a text box input control but also to be able to get the value from the user and then do something with it and what were going to do is going to be pretty simple were going to get the value of this text box that the user provides and were just going to display it in a paragraph off to the side in anticipation of that we do need to be able to invoke our function call a function trigger the function and were going to do that with a button click so after my tex

Right-click the text box border Scroll down and select Set as Default Text Box.
Select the text that you want to return to its default formatting. In Word: On the Edit menu, click Clear and then select Clear Formatting.
With the text box selected, choose Text BoxPositionMore Layout Options and check the Lock anchor option. This will keep the text box anchored to the paragraph at the top of the page. If the paragraph at the top of the page moves to another page, the text box will move with it.
Word Right-click the text box that you want to make invisible. On the shortcut menu, click Format Text Box. On the Colors and Lines tab, in the Fill section, click the arrow next to Color, and then click No Color. On the Colors and Lines tab, in the Line section, click the arrow next to Color, and then click No Color.
Select the text that you want to return to its default formatting. In Word: On the Edit menu, click Clear and then select Clear Formatting.
To format the text in the text box, select it, and then Control + Click the text and select Font. To add different effects to the text box, select the text box, and use the options on the Shape Format tab (such as changing the text direction or aligning the text at the top, middle or bottom of the text box).
Edit Multiple Text Boxes at Once Hold down shift and click each text box that you want to change. Once all the text boxes are selected, you can apply the styling changes you want. For example, you can select a new colour or pick a new font.
Click the border of the WordArt, text box, or shape that you want to move. To move multiple text boxes or shapes, press and hold Ctrl while you click the borders. When the cursor changes to the four headed arrow, drag it to the new location. To move in small increments, press and hold Ctrl while pressing an arrow key.
