If you need a subscript in you Word document, heres how to do it. Place cursor where you want the subscript to go. Click where youd like the subscript to appear. Click the X 2 button. You can find the subscript button on the Home tab. Type your subscript. Exit out of subscript.
Insert a superscript or subscript symbol On the Insert tab, click Symbol. In the Symbol box, in the Font drop-down list, select (normal text) if it isnt already selected. In the Symbol box, in the Subset drop-down list, select Superscripts and Subscripts.
Moving Text Cut using Ctrl+X, move your cursor to the new location of text, then paste to the new location with Ctrl+V. Copy using Ctrl+C, move your cursor to the new location of text, then paste to the new location with Ctrl+V.
Format the text in your table of contents Go to References Table of Contents Custom Table of Contents. Select Modify. In the Styles list, click the level that you want to change and then click Modify. In the Modify Style pane, make your changes. Select OK to save changes.
If you need a superscript in your Word document, heres how to go about it. Place cursor where you want the superscript to go. Click where youd like the superscript to appear. Click the X2 button. You can find the superscript button on the Home tab. Type your superscript. Exit out of superscript.
If you make changes to your document that affect the table of contents, you can update it by right-clicking the table and selecting Update Table of Contents.
Place the cursor at the beginning of the text that you want to move, hold the left mouse button and drag it over the text. Release the button before right-clicking on the mouse and choosing Cut. Then, move the cursor to the new location and right-click again, choosing Paste.

Press Shift+6 to input a superscript character, or press Shift+- to input a subscript character.
As for moving text, we have used operations like cut and paste. So there are shortcut keys for both cut-and-paste operations. The shortcut key for cut operation is Ctrl + X and the shortcut key for Paste operation is Ctrl + V.
