However not everybody knows all the different things that it can do. Let me start off with a simple one. You can get the word count of your document by simply going to View, then Show Word Count or Shift Command W. This brings up the word count at the bottom of the screen. It tells you the word count of the entire document. But if you select some text it will tell you the word count of just that selection. In the Voice Memos app on your Mac, select the recording. Click the Edit button in the upper-right corner to open the recording in the Edit window. If you have a trackpad or a Magic Mouse, click or tap with two fingers on the recording in the list, then choose Edit Recording.
Record a movie, audio, or screen session or open an existing file already saved. Click Edit in the menu bar, then Trim. A yellow trimming bar will appear. Click and drag on the ends of the trimming bar to select the part of the recording to be edited.
Use auto-correction Choose Pages Settings (from the Pages menu at the top of your screen). Click Auto-Correction at the top of the settings window, then select or deselect Correct spelling automatically. With autocorrection on, do any of the following:
In the list of recordings, tap the recording you want to trim, then tap Edit at the top right. at the top right, then pinch and drag the yellow trim handles to enclose the section you want to keep or delete. You can also zoom in on the waveform for more precise editing.
Turn change tracking on or off Turn on tracking: Choose Edit Track Changes (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen). If the review toolbar is showing above your document, you can also click Track Changes in the toolbar. , then choose Turn Off Tracking.

How to trim a video on your Mac Open the Photos app and double-click the video that you want to edit. Click Edit. Move the sliders on both sides of the video timeline to change the start and stop times. To preview your trimmed video, click the play button . Click Done, then click Save Video or Save Video as New Clip.
Place the insertion point where you want to begin dictating, or select the text you want to replace (to select placeholder text, click it). Choose Edit Start Dictation (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen).
