There are technical LUTs that are used to convert between different television standards, perhaps from S-Log3 to Rec-709 as well as creative LUTs that can be used to create an almost endless range of different visual looks and styles.
What is log video? Log is short for logarithmic. A log picture profile on your camera uses a different type of gamma curve than a standard profile such as Rec. 709. The benefit of shooting in log is that your video files will have a higher dynamic range.
LOG is a specific video format processed in the camera, unlike RAW, which is totally unprocessed. LOG footage can be viewed on an external monitor without conversion. And, because its a video format, certain components such as white balance and exposure are made part of the video.

S-Log captures far more information than standard REC. 709 footage can record, giving you more control over the finished image in post-production. Instead of exposing for highlights or shadows when shooting, you can capture all of this information and choose how you want to display it later.
First and foremost is the fact that shooting in log isnt always necessary. Because log is primarily designed to maximize dynamic range, it makes sense to shoot log in tricky lighting conditions where you expect there to be both extremely bright and dark parts in the image.
Shooting in LOG offers a much broader dynamic range and color depth compared to compressed video formats. While compressed formats are smaller in file size and easier to handle, they lose docHub image detail and color information during the compression process.
Choose log for balance between control effort, raw for pushing creative boundaries with expert knowledge. Log: More data than regular video, easier to manage, good for most creative projects. Raw: Ultimate data access, complex demanding, best for professionals with top-tier hardware skills.
