If the title issued reflects an incorrect odometer reading as a result of a keying error and the Departments title record supports the correct information, submit: Completed and signed Form MV-18A Affidavit of Correction. Title jumping is illegal in every state. Even if you purchase a vehicle and turn around the next day and sell it, you are legally required to transfer the title into your name.
Court Order Title Applications If you are unable to establish ownership through any one of the available BMV title application processes, you must obtain a court order. Once you have received the court order, you may apply for a certificate of title through the BMV.
Affidavit of Correction (T-11) A T-11 is used to explain allowable corrections in an assignment section on the back of the title or statement of origin. It must be completed by the seller, and the sellers signature must be docHubd.
You will need to bring the following to the County Tag Office: A completed Tag/Title Application. An emissions inspection certificate if required in your county. Proof of insurance for the new owner. Your drivers license. The original vehicle title. Loan documentation. Payment for fees and taxes.
Remove a name (person) from a registration Complete the Vehicle Registration/Title Application (PDF) (MV-82) with the names of the registrants that remain, and show proofs of identity and date of birth. The fee is $3.
If you apply at an office, submit an Application For Duplicate Certificate Of Title (PDF) (MV-902), and provide proof of your identity and current address. The fee is $20.00. Your duplicate title will be processed within 72 hours after your application is accepted and will be promptly mailed to you.
Indiana Code (IC) 9-13-2-1 states that a vehicle is considered abandoned if it is: Located on public property illegally; or. Left on public property without being moved for twenty-four (24) hours; or.
If the vehicle is abandoned, you must meet the requirements of Indiana Code 9-22. This consists of proof of delivery of a certified letter or a certificate of mailing if the vehicle is worth under $1,000 to the vehicle owner and lienholder (if applicable).
They can either order one online via the BMV services tool or they can go into any BMV branch location to make the request. They can also mail in a completed Application for Certificate of Title, a copy of their photo ID, and the fee to the main BMV location in Indianapolis.
