The eXtensible HyperText Markup Language (XHTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are both computer programming languages commonly used in web development. The two languages have different purposes and are complimentary to one another, with XHTML defining the structure and content of a web page and CSS providing style.
HTML (HypertextMarkup Language) and XHTML (ExtensibleHypertext Markup Language) are both markup languages used for creating and displaying web pages. The main difference between them is the syntax and structure; HTML is more lenient in its syntax, while XHTML has a more strict syntax and follows XML rules.
DHTML, or Dynamic HTML, is a web-development technique combining HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create dynamic, interactive web pages and complex web applications. It uses the Document Object Model (DOM) to manipulate content spontaneously and respond to user interactions in real time without reloading the entire page.
Of the two serializations, the W3C suggests that most authors use the HTML syntax, rather than the XHTML syntax. The W3C recommendations of both XHTML 1.0 and XHTML 1.1 were retired on 27 March 2018, along with HTML 4.0, HTML 4.01, and HTML5.
As long as support is not widespread, most web developers avoid using XHTML that is not HTML-compatible, so advantages of XML such as namespaces, faster parsing, and smaller-footprint browsers do not benefit the user.
XHTML Editor Select Source Code from the Tools drop-down menu. The Source Code dialog displays in which the HTML markup for the formatted text is rendered. Enter and edit marked-up text. Click Submit to save.
XHTML documents consist of three sections, listed as follows: DOCTYPE. DOCTYPE is used to declare a DTD. Head. The Head segment is used to announce the title and other associated attributes. Body. The body is used to provide the content on web pages. It is composed of several tags.
XHTML stands for EXtensible HyperText Markup Language. XHTML is a stricter, more XML-based version of HTML.
