hi everyone my name is kevin today i want to show you how you could password protect an excel spreadsheet why would you want to do that well maybe you have a spreadsheet that has sensitive information maybe you have financial data and you donamp;#39;t want other people to access it put a password on it and thatamp;#39;ll prevent other people from entering unless they know the password uh and as full disclosure before we jump into this i work at microsoft as a full-time employee all right enough talk letamp;#39;s jump into it here i am on my pc and i have the latest version of excel that comes with office uh 365. if you have a recent version like 2019 2016 2013 or any version before the password production uh protection capability has been there for a while so you should be able to do this but i canamp;#39;t guarantee anything because iamp;#39;m just on the latest version all right well letamp;#39;s open up excel and oh i have important financial data in this sheet this is an inco

Select the Info button from the drop-down menu. On the info page, click on the Protect Workbook box. Select the Encrypt with Password button from the drop-down menu. Delete the password from the pop-up window that appears so the text box is blank.
How to Unlock Protected Excel Sheets Without a Password Change the Extension Type to a Zip File. Open the Zip File. Open the Protected Sheet in Notepad. Remove the Protection HTML Code. Add the Edited Sheet to the Zip File. Change the Extension Type to an Excel File. Verify the Sheet is Unlocked.
Click on the Office button- Save as- Tools on the right bottom of the Save as dialog box. Click the Tools menu and choose General Options. Type a password in the modifying password blank. Retype the precious password in the blank and then press OK.

Re: Excel password protected - how to unprotect Open the workbook and enter the password. Go to File Info Protect Workbook Encrypt with Password. Delete the password and click OK. Save and close the workbook.
Remove password protection from an Excel file To remove password encryption from the file, open the workbook and enter the password in the Password box. Then click File Info Protect Workbook Encrypt with Password. Delete the contents of the Password box, click OK, and then save the file again.
On the Review tab, click Protect Sheet or Protect Workbook. Click Unprotect Sheet or Protect Workbook and enter the password. Clicking Unprotect Sheet automatically removes the password from the sheet. To add a new password, click Protect Sheet or Protect Workbook, type and confirm the new password, and then click OK.
