How to Use Create. Decide what youd like to find out about students learning at the end of the lesson. Write a question or pose a problem on the Exit Ticket, or post the question or problem for students to see. Collect. Set a specific amount of time for students to complete the Exit Ticket. Clarify.
Lesson Summary Exit tickets are used at the end of class to assess student learning and allow the students to further absorb what they have learned. The main objective of an exit ticket is to reinforce the key points of the lesson. It is an engaging way to end a lesson that reinforces the material.
Verbal Exit Ticket As students stand in line to turn in their work, they tell you one thing that they learned from the lesson. Alternatively, you could ask them a specific question or have them ask you one question about the lesson.
What was the most important thing you learned in todays class and why is it important? What are two ways you contributed in class today? What is one thing you would like me to explain more clearly? What is one thing you would like us to review again in the next lesson?
An exit ticket, also known as an exit slip, is a short informal assessment activity, typically given to students at the end of the lesson.
Some possible prompts or questions to use for the ticket to leave: Name one important thing you learned in class today. What did you think was accomplished by the small group activity we did today? Write/ask one question about todays content - something that has left you puzzled.
Tips for Creating Effective Exit Tickets Be clear about what you are assessing. Make sure that your exit ticket aligns with the objectives of the lesson. Offer a variety of question types. This can keep students engaged while also providing you with a more comprehensive understanding of their learning.
Finally, exit tickets can be easily differentiated so that all students are engaged in the activity. For example, you can pose a content-based question, but offer a sentence stem for struggling students to guide them in formulating their response.
