The first revision typically involves changing different aspects of the paper that need to be reflected not only in the microstructure of the paper but importantly also in its macrostructure.
1 for the first version of the revisions. While the document is under review, subsequent draft versions will increase by 0.1, e.g., 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. When the revised document is deemed final, the version will increase by 1.0 over the version being revised, e.g., the draft 1.3 will become a final 2.0.
The first revision to a drawing takes place after the initial issue of the drawing is signed and released for bid or construction. Drawing Revision does not refer to changes made to a drawing prior to completion and signing.
Sometimes it means shifting the order of your paper to help the reader follow your argument, or to change the emphasis of your points. Sometimes it means adding or deleting material for balance or emphasis. And then, sadly, sometimes revision does mean trashing your first draft and starting from scratch.
Revision literally means to re-see or re-envision a piece of writing. This process may involve adding, rearranging, removing, and replacing (ARRR) words, sentences, and ideas. Since writing is recursive, revising may require revisiting the prewriting stage.
When we revise our writing, we take the opportunity to step back and re-envision it. We think about the goals of the paper and whether we have accomplished these goals. We ensure that our ideas are clearly expressed and well supported.
How To Revise A First Draft- Step By Step Step 1: Read Through Your Book. Step Two: Organise Your Thoughts. Step 3: Work From Big To Small. Step Four: Work In Layers. Step 5: Re-Read The Entire Text. Step 6: Stay Positive.
Revision doesnt necessarily mean rewriting the whole paper. Sometimes it means revising the thesis to match what youve discovered while writing. Sometimes it means coming up with stronger arguments to defend your position, or coming up with more vivid examples to illustrate your points.
