I created this image for Maine Magazine showcasing four OG beers in the Maine craft beer scene. The concept was the four beers each on a Maine granite pedestal arranged from oldest at the top to the newest at the bottom. All lit like a piece of art on display in a museum. Cool idea, but I didnt have four perfect beer sized granite pedestals on hand, so lets make that in CGI and comp in actual photos of the real product. My workflow starts in Blender making four granite pillars and mocking the bottles and cans to match the actual size that I would be shooting. This way I could see how to arrange them and later pull the shadows and reflections from the model to help in compositing them. It gave us two main layers the granite and the shadows, and then well export into an EXR file and bring it into Photoshop. Now well shoot the beers in the studio. We know our camera settings and basic lighting setup from the Blender model. So we just need to match those in studio and
