all right hey guys so today well be talking about drawing revisions and so what is that so a revision is a change these are changes to drawings um and whenever theres a change to the part that needs to be noted on drawing that theres been a change revisions can be started by marketing so maybe somethings designed manufacturing makes a sample they go to marketing they bring into some customers and then based on the feedback marketing might say oh they like this but can you make it taller or wider change this or whatever so they might start the process manufacturing can also start the process by if theyre in the process of trying to make it say hey if you change this or this itd be easier to make um and so those are usually welcome changes or engineering could just have a new idea on how to do something and and make a change and thatd be a revision also so either one of those three places the places they usually start um but anytime that if a drawing has been made and then goes ou

The term Drawing Revision refers to modifications that are made to a drawing after it has been signed and issued. The first revision to a drawing takes place after the initial issue of the drawing is signed and released for bid or construction.
Any changes made to the blueprints are listed in a revision block thats typically located in the title block or in the top right corner of the actual revised drawing.
revision cloud (plural revision clouds) A cloud shape added to a technical drawing to highlight a region that has been modified since the previous version of the drawing.
The symbol is a triangle containing the revision number of the most recently added revision row. You can insert revision symbols on the sheet that contains the active revision table or on the Model tab if it contains a revision table.

Add revision marks in drawings Open a drawing that has a revision created in Document manager. On the Annotations tab, click Revision mark and select one of the following commands: In the revision Mark list on the right, select another revision number first and then switch to the revision you are documenting.
When a revision involves two or more individual changes on a drawing, each change may be identified by a sequence number enclosed in parentheses preceding the description of the change.
When a drawing is first issued, it is called revision zero or dash (-), and the revision block is empty. As each revision is made to the drawing, an entry is placed in the revision block. This entry will provide the revision number, a title or summary of the revision, and the date of the revision.
