Im Laura Mae Martin, Googles Productivity Advisor here to show you all the sweet things that you can do with G Suite. Today, well show you how to see the change history for your Drive files. Lets get started. In a document you own, navigate to File, Version History, and click See Version History. A column will come up on the right-hand side where you can see the date and time of all changes. When you click on that change, it will highlight the part of the Doc that was edited. You can restore to earlier versions or show more or less detail. In Sheets, you can even right-click on a cell, and choose See Edit History for that individual cell. So there you have it. Your instructor may unsubmit your work which will allow you to re-gain edit access to the file and continue working on the assignment.

Users with Edit access to a file can view full history including changes made by colleagues via the revision history feature. When you work in Googles editors (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings) they automatically and constantly save all changes as you work.
Head over to File Version History through the menu bar. Youll see two options in the Version History menu. To check old versions of your Google Slides presentation, select See Version History. The Name Current Version option is something that well discuss in the following section.
View or revert to earlier versions of Docs, Sheets, and Slides files. Note: You need Owner or Editor access to see the version history. In Drive, open your file. See version history.
When finished, you turn in your work. Before the due date, you can unsubmit work, make changes, and resubmit it. After you turn in a file from Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides, only the teacher can see and edit your work. For instructions, go to Turn in an assignment.
Suggest changes to a file On your computer, open a document at docs.google.com. Select the text you want to change. A button appears on the right margin. Edit the document. Youll see your change in a new color. The owner of the file will get an email about your suggestions and can decide whether to keep them.
To edit a document: On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. To select a word, double-click it or use your cursor to select the text you want to change. Start editing. To undo or redo an action, at the top, click Undo. or Redo. .
To get started, open your document, spreadsheet, or presentation, then click File Version history See version history. This will open a panel to the right of your document.
If you cant see a Google Doc version history, it probably means that you dont have access rights. This implies that you only have can view rights to the file. You can ask the person who is managing the file to modify your access rights to can edit, or can organize, add and edit.
