Youamp;#39;ve been using commas for a long time now, and you know that a comma indicates a pause in a sentence, like in the sentence amp;quot;Although we know a lot about commas, thereamp;#39;s still more to learn.amp;quot; One important thing is that commas are not just about pauses. There are also certain rules to comma usage. Youamp;#39;re pro at some of the simple rules, like where to use a comma in the date or a place. Those are easy. There are three ways to fix a comma splice. You can add a conjunction, change the comma to a semicolon, or make each independent clause its own sentence.
Commas separating two independent clauses When a coordinating conjunction (and, but, or, nor, for, so, or yet) separates two independent clauses, insert a comma after the first clause (before the conjunction) unless both clauses are very short.
Using NotePad++ Open a NotePad++ window. Insert Find and Replace mode. Within the Find What field, enter the following: \r\n. Within the Replace with field, enter a comma.
Alternatively, in the Replace With textbox just hit Ctrl+Enter and that will insert a newline. The whole panel will expand a bit to accommodate the extra line(s).
You can simply go to the edit menu, and choose Find and Replace. From there, just type \r\n|\n|\r in the find box, and in the replace box type a comma, then a space.
Hit Ctrl+H to open the replace dialog. In Find What field, enter \r\n. In Replace with field enter ,\r\n. Under Search Mode either select Extended or Regular Expression Hit Find Next and replace wherever necessary.
If your text strings are separated by commas without spaces, type only a comma (,). In the Replace with field, press Ctrl + J to insert a carriage return. This will insert a line break in place of each comma; the commas will be removed.
Change line breaks to comma in word Open word and open document. Select replace option from office ribbon bar. In the Find What: field type ^p. Type a comma in the Replace with: field. Replace what you want using Replace or Replace All button.
