The revision number is the number of times the document has been saved.
While a version is simply an iteration (something that is different than before), a revision is, in a sense, a controlled version that implies a more impactful change and often requires approval to docHub the next step. The creation of a document over time may go through various stages.
While revisions track changes made to a document over time, versions capture the state of the document at specific points in its lifecycle.
However, in general, a version refers to any iteration of a document, while a revision refers specifically to a final approved change or update to a document.
The element provides a top-level container for multiple topics when you create documents using the ditabase document type. The element lets you create any sequence of concept, task, and reference topics, and the ditabase document type lets you further nest these topic types inside each other.
Usually, a revision number is followed by a subrevision number, separated by a period, for example: revision 1.5, revision 1.6, and so on. New configuration releases start from revision 1.0. 2. All versions of a subrevision (including alpha, beta, prerelease, and release versions) are numbered in the same manner.
