LSIL and HSIL are two types of abnormal changes to cervical squamous cells. Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance (ASC-US) is the most common abnormal Pap test finding. It means some cells dont look completely normal, but its not clear if the changes are caused by HPV infection.
Depending on where cell changes are, they may be called cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) or cervical glandular intraepithelial neoplasia (CGIN). Cell changes arent always a problem. But its important to keep an eye on them, to check whether they may develop further and need treatment.
