okay so recently I had a one of my machines fail so luckily I created an ami right so images so those of you guys know about servers you can create a snapshot of your computer of your machine so Amazon has whats called Amazon machine image right so I created one of these guys and I was able to launch pick an instance so I call technical support and they say this is really cool when you first want to build your machine should select the large instance so you can install your apps quicker then you can then toggle it down so thats makes things really flex flexible right so these are the consideration you need to think about when youre restoring choose instance choose configured instance this gives you the opportunity of put it on a different subnet give it a name and this network VPC allow your images to talk to each other so again you can add or remove storages as you please and then tags this allow you to identify your new instance right and then security group the default is to cre

It isnt possible to restore or recover a deleted or deregistered AMI. However, you can create a new, identical AMI using one of the following: Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) snapshots that were created as backups.
Recover Deleted Data Delete WebServer EBS Volume. Delete EFS File System Data on Web Server. Confirm content is missing from web-server. Restore EFS Filesystem from recovery point. Restore the EBS Volume from recovery point. Confirm all the data is accessible from the EFS and EBS restores.
The default user names are: For Amazon Linux 2022, Amazon Linux 2, or the Amazon Linux AMI, the user name is ec2-user . For a CentOS AMI, the user name is centos or ec2-user . For a Debian AMI, the user name is admin . For a Fedora AMI, the user name is fedora or ec2-user .
After you delete an Amazon EBS volume, you cant restore the volume. If you created an Amazon EBS snapshot of the volume, then you can use the snapshot to recreate the volume to recover the data. Its a best practice to create snapshots of your volumes to prevent data loss when you delete a volume.
