The Recoverable Items folder resides in the non-IPM subtree of each mailbox. This subtree isnt visible to users using Outlook, Outlook on the web (formerly known as Outlook Web App), or other email clients.
Use the Get-RecoverableItems items cmdlet to view deleted items in mailboxes. After you find the deleted items, you use the Restore-RecoverableItems cmdlet to restore them. This cmdlet is available only in the Mailbox Import Export role, and by default, the role isnt assigned to any role groups.
The Outlook Recoverable Items Folder This is a hidden folder where youll find items that have been deleted or emptied from the Deleted Items folder or permanently deleted from your inbox or another folder using Shift+Delete.
You can delete items in the Recoverable Items folder by using the New-ComplianceSearch and New-ComplianceSearchAction cmdlets in Security Compliance PowerShell. To search for items that are located in the Recoverable Items folder, we recommend that you perform a targeted collection.
Once you have deleted an email, it moves to a Recoverable items store.Warning: Items removed from your Recoverable items are permanently deleted and cannot be restored. Under Folders, select Deleted Items. At the top of the message list, select Recover items deleted from this folder. Select Empty folder.
Use the Restore-RecoverableItems items cmdlet to restore deleted items in mailboxes. You use the Get-RecoverableItems cmdlet to find the deleted items to recover. This cmdlet is available only in the Mailbox Import Export role, and by default, the role isnt assigned to any role groups.
Log in to Outlook.com then follow the steps below to recover a deleted email from the Deleted Items folder: In the left navigation pane, click Deleted Items. Select the message you want to restore or select Deleted Items to restore all messages available here. Click Restore in the menu bar.
