The system restore feature in Windows has been around forever, and its saved me plenty of times, although its not always 100% reliable. And it got me thinking, what exactly does the system restore feature restore and back up? I mean I know that it obviously does system files, but does it do the entire Windows directory, what does it do outside of the Windows directory? Because I know that it also claims to not restore or delete any personal documents and stuff like that, so I kind of looked into it. Now, the first resource that I came across of course, was the official Microsoft documentation. And the summary they say is: System restore monitors system changes and saves the system state as a restore point. If a system problem develops as a result of a system change, the user can return the system to a previous state using the data from a restore point. Then it goes on, System restore does not restore user data or documents, so it will not cause users to lose their files, email br

There are two types of restore points in Oracle Database: a normal restore point and a guaranteed restore point. The differences are: Guaranteed restore points let you revert to the restore point regardless of the DB_FLASHBACK_RETENTION_TARGET initialization parameter.
A restore point creates a copy of the system files on the computer at the moment it's created. This means you can return the computer to its original state should any errors occur when, for instance, you run system utilities or installing drivers.
Create a system restore point In the search box on the taskbar, type Create a restore point, and select it from the list of results. On the System Protection tab in System Properties, select Create. Type a description for the restore point, and then select Create > OK.
Method 1: How to restore PC to a previous date when your computer is bootable. Step 1. Type "create a restore point" in the search box and select it from the result list. When the System Properties window opens, click the System Restore button.
It repairs the Windows environment by reverting back to the files and settings that were saved in the restore point. Note: It does not affect your personal data files on the computer.
The Flashback features offer the capability to query historical data, perform change analysis, and perform self-service repair to recover from logical corruptions while the database is online. With Oracle Flashback Technology, you can indeed undo the past.
If you perform a System Restore, any programs (or device drivers) which you installed after the date/time of the restore point you're restoring to will have to be reinstalled.
In the Control Panel search box, type recovery. Select Recovery > Open System Restore. In the Restore system files and settings box, select Next. Select the restore point that you want to use in the list of results, and then select Scan for affected programs.
How to access System Restore from the Advanced Boot Menu Under 'Advanced startup', click the 'Restart now' button. Click Troubleshoot -> Advanced options -> System Restore. This will reboot and bring you to the System Restore menu.
If the System Restore points are missing, it can be because the System Restore utility has been turned off manually. Whenever your turn off System Restore, all previous points created are deleted. By default, it's turned on.
