What is restore point? A system restore point is a backup copy of important Windows operating system (OS) files and settings that can be used to recover the system to an earlier point of time in the event of system failure or instability.

Create a system restore point In the search box on the taskbar, type Create a restore point, and select it from the list of results. On the System Protection tab in System Properties, select Create. Type a description for the restore point, and then select Create OK.
Deleting system restore points is safe, but you need to be mindful about which restore points you should delete. The Command Prompt can help you pick and delete specific restore points.
If your system restore point is missing on your Windows 10, you can manually perform a system restore using your computers Safe Mode. This way, you can get back any previous Windows files or settings you want without exposing your computer while doing so: this is the essence of the Safe Mode.

All necessary information to return the computer to the current state is included in a restore point. In most versions of Windows, this includes all important system files, the Windows Registry, program executables, supporting files, and much more.
