Create an authenticator cloud backup on old phone, then you can restore from the authenticator cloud backup on new phone but make sure no accounts have been added to the newly app. Then sign on with recovery account to do the restore. Do not format old phone until all is good on new phone.
As long as youve updated Google Authenticator and its connected to your Google account, you can restore Authenticator from the cloud. If you arent backing up Authenticator, you can manually transfer your accounts to a new device or restore using your QR code.
In case of any mishaps or device changes, restoring is easier. To back up your accounts, open the authenticator app and tap the menu icon. Choose Settings, followed by Backup. Enable cloud backup with a personal Microsoft account or an organization account
If you have uninstalled the authenticator app on your phone, then there is no option for you to add your account again post reinstalling the app. You will have to contact your global admin and ask him to allow you to re-register for MFA on your account.
Sign into Admin Portal . Go to Users Active Users Find your user. Then check the first check box. Once these steps are done, you can go to when you log in it will walk you through to set up authentication again like it was the first time.
