Heres how: Go to File Explorer. Select one or more files in Windows Explorer. Right-click select Properties from the contextual menu. Go to the Details tab click Remove Properties and Personal Information to open the Remove Properties dialog.
Recover an earlier version of a Word file Open the file you were working on. Click File Info. Under Manage Documents, select the file labeled (when I closed without saving). In the bar at the top of the file, select Restore to overwrite any previously saved versions.
Right-click and choose the Properties option in the context menu. Switch to the Details tab. Click on Remove Properties and Personal Information at the bottom of the dialog window. Select Remove the following properties from this file.
Removing Metadata From Word Using a Mac Open the file you would like to remove metadata from. Click on the Tools menu and select the Protect Document option. In the Protect Document window check the box next to Remove personal information from this file on save Finish working on your document and then save.
Click File Info Remove Personal Information. Click the Personal Information tab. Select the Remove these items from the document check box.
Open recycle bin on your PC from the desktop or by searching for it in the windows search. Once in the recycle bin, you can sort by date deleted if your word file just disappeared. You can also use other sorting options to make finding the file easier. Find the file and double-click on it.
If it appears grayed out, click the Document Inspector button below, run the Document Inspector, and remove all the documents personal information. You should then be able to click the checkbox. Remember, youll have to change this option this for each document separately.
Remove personal information from a document On the Word menu, click Preferences. Under Privacy options, select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box. Save the document.
