In the top action bar the Master Layout icon will be active, click on it and in the appearing window check all the options. Then select the master layouts where you want the footer/header to appear and check the slide footer and header options that appear in the top action bar.
Click Home, click the arrow next to either the Bullets or Numbering button, and then click Bullets and Numbering. Tip: To quickly change the style of a bulleted or numbered list, just click the style you want in the list that appears when you click the arrow next to Bullets or Numbering.
On the Insert tab, select Slide Number. On the Slide tab, clear the box named Slide number. Select Apply to All.
Select any slide. In the Header and Footer dialog box, click the Notes and Handouts tab, clear the boxes for the options you want to remove from the header or footer. Select Apply to All. On the View tab of the ribbon, select Notes Page to see the effect of your changes.
Turn on the display of footers for a specific layout On the Slide Master tab, in the Master Layout group, select the Footers box: In the main pane, immediately you should be able to see the footer placeholders on the slide layout.
Show footer information on your slides Click INSERT Header Footer. On the Slide tab, check Footer. In the box below Footer, type the text that you want, such as the presentation title.
To insert headers and footers, you click INSERT, Header Footer, make sure Slide is selected, and choose your options. These include Date and time, a date and time format, and whether to show the current date or a Fixed one. You decide if you want to show Slide number and include a text Footer.
4) If the slide number is not showing, go to Master Layout and check the Slide number checkbox. Then, select OK.
Change the default view Click File Options Advanced. Under Display, in the Open all documents using this view list, select the view that you want to set as the new default, and then click OK.
The first thing to check is your PowerPoint Slide Master. The slide numbering placeholder needs to be activated on your Slide Master layout. Any previous updates to your presentation or template may have deactivated the placeholder for one or more of the layouts in your presentation.
