Everyone who accesses UF computing services is required to have a GatorLink username and password. Your GatorLink ID is associated with your UFID. To get started, visit the UF HelpDesk.
Not sure about your GatorLink username or password? Call the UF Computing Help Desk at (352) 392-HELP (4357) or email us at helpdesk@ufl.edu. You will be asked for your UFID number.
Your uniqname is your personal University of Michigan identifier, and is the basis for all login access. Along with your passwords, it authorizes or authenticates you to many University systems in Dearborn and Ann Arbor. It is also part of your email address (uniqname@umich.edu).
Fill out and submit the Uniqname Change Request form to begin the uniqname change process. The ITS Service Center will work with you to schedule a time for making the change that will cause you the least disruption. You will need to be logged out of your U-M Google account when the uniqname change is made.
Students can contact the Registrars Office (ro.registration.questions@umich.edu or 647-3507) to update your legal name and/or gender on record.
Employees - Incorrect or changed names require cardholders to provide proof (drivers license, marriage license, etc.) and complete Human Resources form. About 30 minutes after that office makes the necessary changes, cardholders can generally take their old Mcards to an ID Station to obtain new corrected Mcards.
Setting Up Your Uniqname On the Verify Your Identity page, fill in your name, birthdate, UMID, and email address, then click Submit. You will see a Check Your Email page letting you know that an email message has been sent to you at the email address you provided.
Try the self-service reset at or call the UF Computing Help Desk at (352) 392-HELP (4357). You will be asked for your UFID number. Please do not email us for password assistance.
