Before using the RP 460 power meter for DB loss readings in optical cables, it is important to set a reference. Ensure you have the DL S 355 light source, single mode loopback jumper with LC SC and LC clipped ends, and the RP 460 power meter. Insert SC end of the loopback jumper into the DL S 355, single LC end into RP 460, and LC clipped end into duplex adapter on the loopback module. Both units should be powered on with correct wavelength settings. The RP 460 must be in DBM mode for accurate readings.
