On the Layout tab, in the Labels group, click Data Table. Do one of the following: To display a data table, click Show Data Table or Show Data Table with Legend Keys. To hide the data table, click None.
Add a chart legend Click the chart. Click Chart Elements. next to the table. Select the Legend check box. The chart now has a visible legend.
After legend entries have been deleted, the only way to restore them is to remove and recreate the legend that contained them by setting the HasLegend property for the chart to False and then back to True.
On the Design tab, in the Data group, click Select Data. In the Select Data Source dialog box, in the Legend Entries (Series) box, select the legend entry that you want to change. Click Edit. Tip: To add a new legend entry, click Add, or to remove a legend entry, click Remove.
Reverse order of items in an Excel chart legend Right click the chart, and click Select Data in the right-clicking menu. In the Select Data Source dialog box, please go to the Legend Entries (Series) section, select the first legend (Jan in my case), and click the Move Down button to move it to the bottom.
When you have a single series and you modify a point within the series the legend will automatically create a legend entry for each data point. Simplest way to keep the legend as intended is to add another series and then delete the second legend entry.
Tip: To quickly remove a legend or a legend entry from a chart, you can select it, and then press DELETE. You can also right-click the legend or a legend entry, and then click Delete. To display a legend, click the display option that you want.
You can change the legends location on the chart by following these steps: Select the chart by clicking it. Choose the Layout tab on the ribbon. Click the Legend button. A menu like this will appear: Choose the legend location from the different options appearing on the menu.
