hello and welcome here we have an Elgin wristwatch that I picked up at a local thrift store for three bucks it was sold as non-running Im not sure whats wrong with it Im not sure if theres anything broken but lets open it up and find out Ive got the case back loosened here so lets get the case off dial definitely looks like its seen some better days but its not in too rough shape lets take a look at the movement well not so bad at first glance Im not Im not seeing anything glaringly wrong there didnt there wasnt anything wrong with the balance looked like the pivots were okay so lets get the hands off and having a look at this theres some kind of gunky stuff all over this gray stuff Im not sure if its an adhesive some kind of putty something to keep it from rattling around in the case Im not sure but it seems to have gotten all over the place Im working on getting the dial screws out here and the dial just doesnt want to seem to budge Im trying to very gently pry
