foreign Rodriguez here we have two basic families of printers well more than that lets just talk about the ones intended for producing photos you have die base printers usually those will have a maximum of say six colors and then you have pigment based printers difference between the two dies are totally transparent if I took a piece of nice light color Pine or Maple and I would apply a dye stain I will be able to see clearly the grain of the wood itll just be magenta or yellow or orange or whatever dye I use but Ill be able to see all of the character of the wood basically right through that dye layer that I laid on that piece of wood if I use a pigmented stain however its going to hide the grain somewhat youre not going to be able to see it as clearly as possible now some stains may contain a little bit of dye and again some pigment it depends on the stain you use but the fact of the matter is that because its a pigment based stain its going to block the grain so that is some
