Does a PIP Mean You Will Be Fired? One of the most common misconceptions about PIPs is that they are a precursor to termination. While its true that PIPs can be a warning sign that your job is in jeopardy, its important to note that not all PIPs lead to termination.
You can beat the PIP, even if it was secretly created to force you out. Additionally, quitting can make you ineligible for unemployment benefits and can limit your opportunities to challenge your employers actions.
If youre put on a PIP, its time to see the writing on the wall and find new employment. I was put on a PIP and it came as a shock. It was given to me DURING my first annual review (5 months after being in the job). I had no idea they were unhappy with me, as no feedback had been given before that.
