Some airlines, such as American Airlines, take up to 4 hours to send the email confirmation. Call the airlines reservation department directly if you still have not received your confirmation after 4 hours. You can also look up your flight on the airlines website using your confirmation code.
The best thing to do is contact the airline directly and explain what happened. They may be able to help you locate the original booking or provide you with a new one.
