Most email service providers offer account recovery options such as resetting passwords or answering security questions. Look for these options on the sign-in page of your email service providers website and follow the prompts provided.
In this hidden folder, items are retained even after deletion. Heres how to recover Outlook emails and items in this folder: In Outlook, click on the Deleted Items folder. On the ribbon at the top of the screen, click Recover items deleted from this folder.
When you delete an item, it goes into your Deleted Items folder. This is called a Soft deletion. After 30 days, a retention policy on the Deleted Items folder means that your item is automatically moved from your Deleted Items folder to the Deletions folder. This is called a Permanent Deletion.
In the message list, click a message. Tip: To select more than one message, press and hold CTRL as you click each message. From the Ribbon, select Assign Policy. The retention policy for a message appears in the header in the Reading Pane under the recipient names and includes the expiration date.
An email retention policy (ERP) is a defined procedure prescribing how long emails should remain within an archiving solution before being erased. It is relied upon as a legal protection if proof of email communication is needed for a court case or to satisfy governmental regulations.
When the time period elapses and a message ages out, the message does not go to your Deleted Items folder, but it is still recoverable through the Recover Deleted Items option (described below) for 14 days. If you manually delete a message from any folder before it ages out, it is moved to the Deleted Items folder.
Make sure you are online and connected to the mail server. In Outlook, go to your email folder list, and then select Deleted Items. On the Home tab, select Recover Deleted Items From Server. Select the items that you want to recover, select Restore Selected Items, and then select OK.
