Check webmail and see if you are finding the expected draft message there. Check if you have set any archive policy at exchange or outlook which caused the archival of the email to a different location. Check deleted items folder for the draft.
Just launch the Gmail application and go to its Drafts folder. From here, you can find an unsaved draft email, copy its content, and place it anywhere else. Make sure that you manually maintain a second copy of the draft since it would be gone as soon as the Gmail app would be connected to the internet again.
Check your settings: Make sure that the Show option is selected for the Drafts label in your Gmail settings. To do this, click on the gear icon in the top right corner of Gmail, then select Settings from the dropdown menu. Click on the Labels tab and scroll down to the System Labels section.
You can edit an email saved to drafts to include other contacts or add information before sending it. Open a Web browser and access your email account. Click the Drafts folder to view the emails that were moved there. Double-click on the email that you want to move to the outbox.
The only option available is to use the Reopen Items from Last Session feature, which you have already mentioned. This feature will only reopen emails that were open in the previous session of Outlook.
When the draft is sent, the draft is automatically deleted and a new message with an updated ID is created with the SENT system label. This message is returned in the drafts.
