Open File Explorer and switch to project drawing. Choose from context menu of the drawing Properties. Switch to tab Previous Versions. Restore a backup from a date/time, where the drawing was still valid.
The backup file (BAK) is in the same folder as the drawing (DWG). Backup files will be the last-saved version. To recover a backup file: Open the folder containing the DWG file. Look for a file with the same name of the one to recover and a BAK extension. Change the BAK extension to DWG. Open the file in AutoCAD.
This Recovered file will have the same name as the file you are working on and can normally be found in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\SKETCHUP on a Windows system. On a Mac its ~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2021/working/SKETCHUP/RecoveredFiles.
If Sketch crashed before you were able to save your file, please follow these steps: Open Finder and select Go Go to Folder from the menu bar. Paste in the following path: ~/Library/Mobile Documents/Sketch. This is where unsaved files are temporarily kept.
Go to Disk Data Recovery, select the hard drive that stored the formatted or deleted AutoCAD DWG files. Scan the drive and find the files. Click Search for lost files button to look through the drive, go to TypePicturesDWG, or you can use filter to find specific files quickly. Preview and recover DWG files.
It is typical to close a file without saving it accidentally. However, you may manually retrieve it if the autosave function is enabled. The SketchUp autosave files are held in the My Documents folder under the Windows folder on your C drive.
