Access gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to formatting a report. You can use any fonts and colors that you want, you can change the theme, and you can even add a header, footer, and company logo. In this example, Id like to start out by changing the fonts. And I want to put the descriptions in italics, and make the product names bold. To do this, well need to be in Layout view. First, select the column that you want to change. You can also hold down the SHIFT key if you want to select multiple columns. Then go to the Format tab and choose the font that you want. Im going to pick Cambria. Now to make the descriptions italic, Ill select them and click the Italic command. And then Ill select the product type and make it bold. I think Ill go ahead and delete the field headers. Anybody who sees this menu will know what each column is, so they dont really need to be labeled. At this point, we can switch to Print Preview to see how it looks. The new font and the italics r

The basic syntax looks something like: PROC REPORT DATA= datasetname ; COLUMN variable list and column specifications; DEFINE column / column usage and attributes; COMPUTE column; compute block statements; ENDCOMP; RUN; The COLUMN statement is used to identify all variables used in the generation of the table.
The COLUMN statement is used to identify all variables used in the generation of the table. This statement is followed by the DEFINE statement which specifies how the column is to be used and what its attributes are to be. One DEFINE statement is used for each variable in the COLUMN statement.
PROC REPORT provides both default and customized summaries. (See Using Break Lines.) This overview illustrates the types of reports that PROC REPORT can produce. The statements that create the data sets and formats used in these reports are in Selecting Variables and Creating a Summary Line for a Report.
In general, PROC PRINT is simple to use and provides a quick approach with minimal statements. However, beyond simple listings, PROC PRINT has limited options, whereas PROC REPORT can also produce simple listings, without too many more statements or options than PROC PRINT, and provides much more flexibility.
PROC REPORT summarizes the input data set for group, order, and across variables. As it does this, it also calculates statistics needed in both summary and detail table lines. It creates the records associated with RBREAK, BREAK, and COMPUTE BEFORE | AFTER statements for report variables.
You can use proc report in SAS to generate a report for a dataset in SAS with the exact formatting that youd like. This procedure uses the following basic syntax: /*create report*/ proc report data=mydata; run; This will generate a report that displays the rows in a dataset exactly as they appear.
