Share this story Go to Settings General Keyboard Text replacement. Tap the plus sign in the upper right corner. Fill in the first field, Phrase, with the text you want to use. The second field, Shortcut, will contain the text youll type to use that phrase. Tap Save in the upper right corner, and youre done.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click Keyboard in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Click Text Replacements on the right. If youre working in an app, you can also choose Edit Substitutions Show Substitutions, then click Text Settings.
Set an app to always use a text replacement: In a document, choose Edit Substitutions, then choose Text Replacement (a checkmark shows its on). To turn it off, choose the command again.
On Android: go to Settings select System Click on Languages Input Click Advanced Select Personal Dictionary Click the + sign in the upper right.
Step 1: In System preferences Keyboard, go to the Text tab. Step 2: To edit a replacement, select it and enter the new shortcut or text you want to display. Then, press your Return key. Step 3: To delete a replacement, select it in the list and use the Minus sign on the bottom left to remove it.
Press the Ins key to toggle overtype mode off. Depending on your keyboard model, this key may also be labeled Insert. If you simply want to disable overtype mode but keep the ability to toggle it back on, you are done.
To turn predictive text off or on: Touch and hold the smile emoji or the globe icon. . Tap Keyboard Settings, then turn Predictive on or off.
When youre in a program and typing a message, go to the menu bar and choose Edit Substitutions Show Substitutions Text Replacement and deselect Text Replacement. This will stop that program from using the feature. Youll need to do it for every program on your Mac where you want to opt out.
